First Bike Ride

I went for my first bike ride since my accident, a couple nights ago. It was so fun! I miss riding...but I think I will have to wait a bit longer before I go again. I did not realize how bumpy the streets are in my area, until I went for a bike ride with a fractured finger. (and it was a little chilly for the metal plate in my other finger).

I am having a dilemma whenever I am faced with being in the cold. I can either wear a splint to protect my middle finger from further injury and have an aching ring finger due to cold. Or wear a glove to keep my ring finger warm, but I can't fit a splint inside or on top of my splint to protect my finger. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I should do/could try? If so, please share! :)

One thing after another

I feel bad I never took a picture of my house last week. We fumigated, so my house was covered in a circus tent for a few days. It was quite an adventure. \

We had dry wood termites in a decorative wooden wall in our basement family room. At first, we were going to just rip out the wooden wall, but as we carefully removed the first few wooden beams, we found they had traveled into the floor beams. At that point, we decided (between the choices at hand) that it would probably be cheaper and easier to spend a few thousand dollars to fumigate, rather than spending who knows how much to tear apart our house and try to locate every board containing the little pests. We used Dixie Pest Control, and we were really happy with the outcome. They did a good job, and I felt they were very careful with our home.

Now that we are back in our home, I have fixed our front planter beds. I planted some new flowers along with some Roman Chamomile, and a little English Thyme. One of these days I'll post pictures of some of the things I have planted.

Thank goodness I have my yard squared away for the time being, because my sister had her baby this morning! She had Scott Bramall Chamberlain at 8:23 am. He was 9 lbs. 4 oz. and 21 in. long. So I get to play with her kidlins for part of today. We have been having fun today. On that note, I had better keep playing with trains with them on the floor, before we all get into trouble!

P.S. I typed this post with two hands!!!

Ooops! Here is the whole family

Sorry! I guess I was really tired last night. I am not sure if I deleted it, or just didn't mark it. I am not sure how I missed the main family picture--the point of the whole post, but here it is:There we are, all together, happy as clams. It was hard to encourage my kids to smile and look forward while remembering to do so myself. I am continually amazed at how quickly my kids grow (as well as how quickly I can grow, but I shrink so slowly--it's just not fair!)

Family Photos

I am not sure if many people know this about me, but I do not love having my picture taken. I never have enjoyed the feeling of posing while someone is capturing what I look like--FOREVER! (Maybe I'm just a weirdo...).

With that being said, my dad wanted some family pictures for Christmas. So he bought himself a family photo shoot for each of his kids at the local photography shop. How am I supposed to not follow through with that?!?

I absolutely loved the pictures of my children. Nissa captured them very well, with much effort and coaxing on her part.--Thank goodness for digital cameras!

Eliza:
Our angelic little angel. She is such a sweet little girl!
Tucker:
He is fairly mellow, a little bashful at times, but he is also pretty fearless.
He would follow his big brother anywhere!
His hair is super short due to a haircut his big brother gave him...
possibly a month prior to this picture, yeah, it was short!

Brycen:
A little bit of a spaz, he is rarely shy and loves to explore and get into everything--especially when he has a little sidekick to blame for any mess. He has a shirt that says, "My Parents are Exhausted!", and it is true most days. Would you have a hard time punishing a boy this excited about an adventure he has embarked upon? Every once in a while I struggle to keep a straight face during disciplinary action.
My boys absolutely adore their little sister.
This was not a posed picture, for my boys. We were just trying to get a picture of Eliza and the boys jumped in to watch more closely. This is one of my favorite pictures!
Anyway, there are my gorgeous children. I sure love them!

Who needs a mop?

Who needs a mop?
I know that I don't.
I tell my children to stop,
They're sassy and say, "I won't".
On my hands and knees I scrub my floors daily.
Should I actually throw my mop away?--Maybe.

Sometimes I feel like I am going crazy.
I spend all my days cleaning.
No longer do I ever feel lazy.
So exhausted, I find myself leaning,
Against walls to hold me up.
Do I love motherhood? most of the time--Yup!

This poem is so silly!
I am exhausted today.
Eliza has been so sick, Really!
I do all this work without getting paid.
Even when I am so tired,
My kids are still totally wired. . .

It's a good thing I love them!

Perhaps I should have entitled this,
"The exhausted mother with sick kids and a messy house". . .
no, that is too long.

I hope everyone else is feeling and doing well!
Have a great day.

Uhm, I love having a little girl

Whenever I am frustrated with my little boys and all the messes they make, I just talk to this little munchkin.
Isn't she cute! Ryan and I sure love her. (We love our boys too, they just make bigger messes and break things more often.--I am sure Eliza's time will come.) We went out for Valentine's day last week so we can spend tonight with all of our little heart throbs.

They are our greatest joys on this earth.

Happy Valentine's day everyone!

May you all have a wonderful day celebrating someone you love!
